Backhoe diggers combine digging and material-moving capabilities into one piece of equipment for use on construction sites and in infrastructure work. The backhoe arm on the rear is used for digging and trenching; the front loader bucket handles loading and transporting material and leveling off for finishing work. Using this combination machine, operators can do the work of several operations on a site at one shot and without changing machines.
Designed for operating in rough conditions, backhoe diggers are well-built with heavy-duty frames, components, and hydraulic systems suited to continuous service. Operators work from well-arranged, visible controls, and the machines are made stable enough to avoid ‘tipping’ to one side or the other called ‘overbalancing.’ Availability of a wide range of optional attachments such as buckets of different sizes, hydraulic breakers, augers for earth boring, and fork attachments for moving beams or other pallets all add to usefulness.
