Small Telehandler Uses in Farming and Warehousing

By using a telehandler, farmers can maximize their loading potential and be able to properly stack trailers during harvest season and winter months without having to worry about weight distribution issues. As previously mentioned, a traditional tractor may only allow for the stacking of three bales in the same area, causing a significant amount of wasted space. Because our small telehandlers have the ability to reach an impressive height while utilizing telescoping booms, they also allow farmers to use all of the vertical space provided by their buildings as well. Loading and unloading your high-sided trailers with the telehandler will reduce the risk of damaging your costly equipment and improve your profitability.

I. Small Telehandlers in Farming: The Ultimate "Agri-Assistant"

On a modern farm, the workload changes with the seasons. A machine that only performs one task sits idle for half the year. We engineered our small telehandlers to be "multi-season" workhorses.

1. Weed and Pest Control

For most farmers, controlling weeds and pests is one of the biggest challenges, particularly in high-producing row crops. The telehandler allows you to have a greater amount of flexibility when applying weed and pest control products, which ultimately leads to reducing wasted resources and better returns on your investment.

2. Management of Livestock and the Barn

The "small" part of a small telehandler is important when working indoors. Our compact models have a low-profile design (usually under 6.5 feet tall), which allows entry into low clearance poultry houses and stables.

Cleaning: With an attachment that has a grapple bucket, a telehandler can quickly clear bedding and manure off of the ground.

Feeding With Precision: The agile steering allows the operator to navigate through narrow feeding alleys, transporting silage or grain exactly where it is needed without damaging gates or stalls.

3. All-Terrain Capabilities

Farming doesn't happen on a flat floor. Unlike traditional warehouse forklifts, a TOBETER telehandler is designed with four-wheel drive (4WD) and large, lugged tires, making it easy to go from muddy fields to gravel yards while remaining stable on uneven terrain.

II. Airlift Telehandlers in Warehousing: Redefining Logistics

In the warehouse environment, the "little" telehandler is a "heavy-hitter" compared to standard forklifts. As logistics hubs become more crowded and congested, telehandlers provide the ability to reach out as well as up.

1. Reach Across Obstacles

Standard forklifts can only lift vertically. If a pallet is behind a row of crates or on the far end of a flatbed truck, a standard forklift operator must first remove the obstacles in order to retrieve the pallet.

Out-Of-Reach Load: With the boom (also known as a "tele-boom") of a telehandler, an operator can reach horizontally or vertically to pick up loads that were previously inaccessible (e.g., second-row pallets).

Vertical Loading Of Tall Racks: Telehandlers allow the operator to place huge items on rack shelves even when they are often too far away from compact indoor forklifts.

2. Superior Maneuverability: "Crab Steering" Mode

Warehouses can be very maze-like. At TOBETER, we have three different steering modes on our telehandlers that will prevent you from ever getting stuck in your warehouse:

  • Two-Wheel Steering Mode: High-speed travel from the yard to the dock.
  • Four-Wheel Steering Mode: Extremely tight turning radius in narrow aisles.
  • Crab Steering Mode: Allows the telehandler to move diagonally; great for "inching" a load into tight corners or for moving along walls.

3. Indoor/Outdoor Transition

There are many warehouses that have outside storage yards with gravel or dirt as a surface. A small telehandler can transfer smoothly from polished flooring to an outside gravel yard with no loss of traction or stability. Using just one telehandler can reduce the size of your fleet and the need for specialized vehicles.

IV. The TOBETER Commitment to Performance

When you purchase a small telehandler, you are investing in a machine that adapts to your requirements. At TOBETER, we put the comfort and safety of our customers ahead of everything. With 360-degree visibility in each of our cabs, you can see everything around you while lifting bales in the dusty barn or moving pallets in the busy warehouse. We would love for you to experience the technology and strength of our new compact product line. Whether you are a family farmer or logistics manager, we have "iron" to elevate your operation.
